Rangers will be worried about losing Steven Gerrard every time a job becomes available in the Premier League.

That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with Wolves, Tottenham and Crystal Palace all looking for a new boss.

With Champions League football and a title defence with Rangers to look forward to, Gerrard is not reported to be among the prime candidates for any of the roles.

Sean Dyche and Valerien Ismael are in the running for the Palace job, while Wolves remain in talks with Bruno Lage despite the Brexit points system throwing a spanner in the works.

The Athletic meanwhile report that Tottenham are in talks with Mauricio Pochettino regarding a sensational North London return.

But Kenny insists that won’t stop Rangers’ anxiety about losing the jewel in their crown in Gerrard.

“They’ll definitely be worried,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“With his playing career and what he’s doing as a manager, he’s starting to build a really, really good CV.

“I think as soon as any Premier League club sacks their manager and a job becomes available, they’ll be worried.

“I don’t think something like him going to Wolves will come off this summer. He’ll probably hang about a bit and take the next step after that.

“But if Liverpool came in for him, can he really turn it down? Like Lampard going to Chelsea, it might not come around again.”

In other news, Rangers could be set for United States recruitment spree after major development.
