Rangers v Hibernian atmosphere at Ibrox will suffer says Jack Ross

Jack Ross has suggested that the Ibrox atmosphere will suffer ahead of Rangers vs Hibernian clash on Sunday due to the lack of away fans.

Rangers and Celtic have not allocated away tickets for league games ever since the Covid-19 regulations were relaxed.

Hearts and Motherwell have already written to SPFL urging them to act quickly, and now the Hibernian boss has vented his frustration as well.

Ross has suggested that it’s “unfortunate” with the situation they are in, and that Hibs simply cannot do anything about it.

He has suggested that the Ibrox atmosphere will be hampered without the away fans as there’s a “rivalry” between both the clubs.

The former Sunderland boss adds the lack of away fans is damaging the game and the authorties should be pro-active about it.

“It would have added to the whole occasion – the presence of a big Hibs support inside Ibrox would have heightened the atmosphere because there’s a rivalry between the clubs,” said Ross, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“That’s intensified when we are both in the position we are. The motivation for both clubs would be to finish the weekend top of the table.

“It’s unfortunate. There’s nothing we can do about it.”

Clash at the top

Hibs should be now focusing on picking up a positive result against Rangers who haven’t been at their best this season.

The two sides will battle it out for the top spot in the Scottish Premiership in front of a near 50,000 capacity crowd made up entirely of Rangers fans.

The Gers are currently leading the SPFL table, and Hibs are behind them by just a point. With Celtic already six points behind the league leaders, this game promises to be a cracker.

Rangers have dropped points against Motherwell earlier this month, and Hibs can use this as motivation when they visit Ibrox on Sunday.

The visitors are unbeaten in their last five league games, but they have picked up only two wins out of them.
