Alan Rough has slammed the decision of Steve Clarke to call up Rangers keeper Jon McLaughlin over Zander Clarke.
The St Johnstone stopper was included in the previous Scotland squad due to the COVID-19 crisis at Ibrox, and that has now stopped.
Rough questioned the decision and hinted that he would have left McLaughlin out for Clark this month.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer this afternoon, Rough labelled the announcement as “diabolical.”
“I think the Zander Clark thing is diabolical,” he said.
“I think he’s been absolutely outstanding for the last six months, and to be in the squad and then just be brought out because of McLaughlin’s had a couple of games.
“It’s a hard one to take.”
