Freed Rangers youngster Dapo Mebude set to sign for Premier League's Watford

Former Rangers youngster Dapo Mebude is on the brink of securing a move to the Premier League with Watford.

The 19-year-old Scotland youth internationalist was once one of the most highly-regarded young players on Rangers' books, but the man himself revealed via social media earlier this week that he was bringing his stay at Ibrox to an end.

Mebude didn't specify where he'd be playing next season but now it seems he could be heading for a stint in the English top-flight with the Hornets.

The Daily Record are reporting that Mebude is on the verge of moving to Vicarage Road after starting negotiations with the Watford hierarchy, and a deal could be completed as early as this weekend.

The move might represent something of a dream move for Mebude, who enjoyed a loan spell with Queen of the South last season but made more headlines for being part of the Rangers Covid five who suffered Steven Gerrard's ire after breaking lockdown rules.
