Part 1 of this series selected key games in Gerrard’s first two seasons and in particular those which meant the most to the club, primarily in terms of revenue and prestige, in our pursuit of victory. Our 2019/2020 foray into the last 16 of the Europa League had generated over £20m for the football club and the Europe runs were a necessary virtuous cycle for reinforcing Gerrard’s war machine.
