Rangers reject Cagliari bid for Alfredo Morelos, Gerrard wants £10m+

Rangers have rejected a fresh bid from Italian side Cagliari for Alfredo Morelos this week, according to Bruno Andrade.

The UOL Esporte journalist has reported that the Serie A club only offered £6.8million for the Colombian, a ludicrous figure.

It is suggested that Porto are also interested, but Steven Gerrard will only accept offers of £10.3million and above.

Reporting on his personal Twitter account, Andrade shared the major update that will leave the Bears laughing.

“Alfredo Morelos is an old desire of Sérgio Conceição at FC Porto,” he said.

“Rangers hopes to sell the Colombian striker for approximately €12million. 24-year-old goalscorer, who receives €1.2million clean per season, had recently declined an offer for €8million from Cagliari.”

Embarrassing.

This may be one of the worst transfer stories we have seen in a long time.

Suggesting that Gerrard would accept an offer of just over £10million is embarrassing, and may even need to be doubled in order to open negotiations.

Morelos has just played his part in firing us back to the Champions League and picking up the Scottish Premiership along the way, his value has soared once again, not declined.

Seeing suggestions like this simply make us laugh, and lowers our fears that our best players could potentially leave this summer.

There is no chance of this happening, and if it did, there would be outrage – we have played hardball for the likes of Ryan Kent, so the exact same will happen with Morelos.

Gerrard is smart, and Ross Wilson will have prepared for interest in our better players after last season’s masterclass.
