Rangers fans have been sending positive messages of support after Ibrox legend Walter Smith was pictured with a host of iconic sporting personalities at a golf event Loch Lomond.
Smith, 73, was snapped alongside the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Alex McLeish, Sir Kenny Dalglish and even Alan Shearer.
This is one of the legendary former Rangers manager’s first appearances since Smith underwent an operation earlier in the year.
Rangers fans were saddened to hear Walter was recovering from an operation back in March after the club sent out a message to inform supporters.
Rangers Football Club can confirm Walter Smith had an operation on Monday and he is currently recovering in hospital.

There are few figures still alive more synonymous with Rangers and Smith’s time across two spells at Ibrox make the great man an icon to both young and old at the Gers.

Naturally, his appearance at the charity golf event in Loch Lomond has warned the hearts of many bluenoses and they took to Twitter to express their delight at Smith’s presence:
