Away games in the Scottish Premiership come down to one thing – get the three points, then get back down/up the road.
Historically St Johnstone may not have caused Rangers many problems in the past, however, under Callum Davidson they are well organised, physical, direct and very tough to beat, our trip to Perth didn’t provide any real surprises.
It was noticeable how much they tried to slow the game down – no ball boys for example – and tried to influence the referee, with the worst incident coming after Kemar Roofe had brought Steven Gerrard’s side level from the penalty spot, in short, they have almost turned into Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock, just be grateful that they don’t have a plastic pitch too.
GOAL! St Johnstone 1-1 Rangers (Roofe pen 58)
Roofe equalises for Rangers from the spot after Ryan Kent was brought down by Muller in the box – game on!
